Illinois casinos saw revenue increase 7.6% year-over-year in December, rising from $157.1 million in 2024 to $169.1 million in 2025.
According to the latest report from the Illinois Gaming Board, Rivers Casino Des Plaines led the state as usual with $45.7 million adjusted gross receipts. But the numbers also pointed to the success of Wind Creek Chicago Southland, which opened in November 2024. Last month provided the first year-over-year full-month snapshot for the south-suburban casino-hotel, which earned $17.2 million in gaming revenue. That’s up a whopping 53% from $11.2 million in December 2024, the casino’s first full month of operation.
Other revenue increases in the state were reported by Hollywood Casino Joliet, which saw a 47.5% rise in revenue after opening its land-based casino in August, Full House Resorts Casino with a 12.8% increase, and Walkers Bluff Casino, which experienced a 9.8% increase.
DraftKings at Casino Queen experienced the most significant decline in December, with revenue dropping 33.3% from $8.2 million to $5.5 million. Additional drops were reported by Harrah’s Joliet, falling 7%, Hollywood Casino Metropolis, down 6.6%, and the Bally’s Chicago, down 3.4%.
Revenue remained mostly stable for Argosy Casino Alton, which saw a decline of 0.6% from $2.74 million to $2.72 million, and the Golden Nugget Danville, which rose 0.7% from $3.47 million to $3.5 million.
Statewide, electronic gaming device revenue in Illinois reached $128.9 million, a 9.5% increase from $117.7 million in 2024, and table games revenue rose 2% from $39.4 million to $40.1 million.
