Illinois March casino revenue up 16.3 percent year over year

The Illinois Gaming Board has reported that the state’s casinos collected $152.3 million in adjusted gross revenue in March, up 16.3 percent from March 2023.

Rivers Casino in Des Plaines reported the highest adjusted gross revenue of $47.8 million among the state’s 15 casinos. Grand Victoria Casino was second with $13.5 million, and Harrah’s Joliet was third with $12.2 million. Bally’s Chicago followed closely behind with $11.1 million from its temporary casino inside the historic Medinah Temple building in River North. Bally’s plans to open a $1.7 billion casino and hotel property by 2026.

Adjusted gross revenue from slots totaled $115.7 million, while table games racked up $36.6 million.

The state collected $22.7 million in tax revenue, which will go towards education, infrastructure and other state initiatives, about 10.6 percent higher than March 2023’s $20.5 million.

Rivers Casino had the most admissions over the 31 days in March, with 271,467, followed by Bally’s Chicago with 117,870 and Grand Victoria with 85,276.
