Illinois casinos report 14.6% year-over-year revenue increase for January

Illinois casinos generated $165 million in revenue January, up 14.6% year-over-year.

According to the latest report from the Illinois Gaming Board, statewide slot revenue reached $121.9 million, up 12%, while table games revenue rose 22.7% to $43.1 million.

Rivers Casino Des Plaines saw revenue rise by 8.7% to a state-high $42.1 million. Wind Creek Chicago Southland was up 44.8% year-over-year to $19.2 million.

Hollywood Casino Joliet, which moved from a riverboat to land in August, saw the most significant year-over-year revenue increase, rising 60.3% to $11.3 million.

Golden Nugget Danville also experienced a double-digit revenue increase in January, increasing 18.4% to $3.3 million.

Harrah’s Joliet saw the most significant decline in revenue, falling by 5.5% to $8.3 million. Argosy Casino Alton was down 1.9% to $2.5 million, while Harrah’s Metropolis was up 0.1% to $4.08 million.
