IGT’s head of new business and strategic initiatives stepping down

Gaming equipment provider International Game Technology the head of new business and strategic initiatives had resigned “to pursue a new professional opportunity.”

In a brief statement Monday, IGT said Executive Vice President of New Business and Strategic Initiatives Walter Bugno would remain in his current role until May 14. A replacement wasn’t named.

IGT said its new business responsibilities will be divided among the Global Lottery and Global Gaming business units. Responsibilities for strategic initiatives will be assumed by the IGT Strategy and Corporate Development support function.

“I would like to thank Walter for his accomplishments over the course of more than 10 years of senior leadership at IGT,” CEO Marco Sala said in a statement. “His efforts have made meaningful contributions to the strength of our global leadership.”

Sala said Bugno worked across multiple regions, championed the company’s innovations, fostered talent, and built “significant customer relationships.”

IGT is reporting its first-quarter earnings next week.

Shares of IGT closed at $17.31 on the New York Stock Exchange, up 9 cents, 0.52%.
