International Game Technology and FanDuel Group announced an extension and enhancement Monday of the companies’ multi-year agreement covering sports betting and igaming in the U.S.
According to the announcement, IGT PlaySports platform will be utilized by FanDuel retail sportsbooks in eight states and FanDuel agreed to offer IGT’s online casino games in the two states – New Jersey and Pennsylvania – where it currently operates.
Financial terms were not disclosed, and the agreement runs through September 2024.
The agreement expands IGT and FanDuel’s technology partnership that currently extends across nine U.S. states and includes the FanDuel Sportsbook at Meadowlands Racetrack and sports complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
More than 200 IGT PlaySports self-service kiosks are currently located at FanDuel sportsbooks across the U.S.
“IGT is the strategic partner that we will lean on to help us expand our retail footprint across the U.S., FanDuel CEO Matt King said in a statement.
“IGT and FanDuel Group are positioned for continued success in the U.S. and we are committed to fueling FanDuel Sportsbooks’ sustained growth,” said IGT Senior Vice President Enrico Drago.
IGT has long been known and as slot machine provider to casinos and a manufacturer of equipment and systems that operate government-run lotteries in the U.S. and internationally.
The announcement comes a day before IGT announces its second-quarter earnings. Shares in the company closed at $10.56 in trading Monday on the New York Stock Exchange, up 70 cents or 7.10%.
FanDuel operates retail sportsbooks in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, and Mississippi and online sports betting in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, and Colorado.
