Gaming Laboratories International has become the first laboratory accredited in the state of Paraná and the first laboratory to be accredited following a formal laboratory accreditation process in Brazil. This achievement builds on GLI’s 25 years of service to the gaming industry throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Loteria do Estado de Paraná (LOTTOPAR) made the announcement Wednesday.
The laboratory accreditation authorizes GLI to perform testing and certification of lotteries and fixed-odd sports betting based on technical standards required by LOTTOPAR.
“The accreditation of testing and certification laboratories for the lottery industry demonstrates the commitment of LOTTOPAR and the government of Paraná to provide a safe and responsible environment for lottery operations, thus guaranteeing global safety standards,” said the Director-President of Loterias do Estado do Paraná, Daniel Romanowski.
“GLI has worked closely with regulators throughout Latin America and the Caribbean since we obtained the first laboratory accreditation in Peru 25 years ago, becoming the first country to establish the process in the region,” said GLI Vice President of Latin America, Caribbean, and Spain Karen Sierra Hughes. “We are grateful to LOTTOPAR for their dedication to the regulated lottery and sports betting industry and for recognizing GLI for our accreditations, capabilities, and expertise.”
GLI’s experts ensure licensing is handled as a priority, resulting in fast response times to accreditation requirements established by jurisdictions. This is critical in supporting regulators’ policy objectives and industry development timeframes and in supporting the suppliers and operators in their immediate testing and certification needs to achieve a fast and efficient entrance in the market.
GLI works closely with the industry and regulatory agencies in Latin America and 567 jurisdictions worldwide to ensure the land-based, igaming, and lottery industries operate at the highest levels of compliance. The company offers 360-degree compliance services that consist of regulatory compliance, technical compliance, cybersecurity, professional and technical training, and responsible-gaming consultancy and audits.
