Patrons at Gila River properties were able to contribute to the charities through kiosks connected to Everi Cares, a charitable giving application that generates contributions by way of winning ticket vouchers. In October 2019, the gaming operator became first gaming enterprise in Arizona to launch the Everi charitable giving application.

The gaming operator’s Arizona properties – Wild Horse Pass in Chandler, Lone Butte in Chandler, and Vee Quiva in Laveen – are donating approximately $174,000 to Free Arts for Abused Children of Arizona, Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, Special Olympics Arizona, and Homeless Youth Connection.

These are the recipients and their missions:

  • Free Arts for the Abused Children of Arizona, based in Phoenix, is a nonprofit organization that uses art as a therapeutic tool to help and heal abused and homeless children.
  • The Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation, also in Phoenix, funds activities to help children in foster care learn new skills, play sports, meet friends, and have the childhood they deserve.
  • Special Olympics Arizona, in Goodyear, part of the national Special Olympics, provides year-round sports training, competitions, and support programs to Arizonans with intellectual disabilities
  • Homeless Youth Connection, in Avondale, seeks to eliminate barriers to graduation for homeless youth ages 13-19, and creates solutions for successful futures through community support and increased awareness.
