As Gasser Chair Company celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, executives are looking forward to G2E to show off their latest models, along with reflecting on the company’s long history.
The Youngstown, Ohio-based Gasser designs and manufactures chairs that can be used in any casino and resort application and has served the gaming market since the 1960s. It also services the hospitality industry.
Gasser Chair has operated as a family-owned business since brothers Louis, Roger, and George Gasser founded the company in 1946. George Gasser’s two eldest sons — CEO Gary Gasser and President Mark Gasser — lead the skilled production team today.
During this anniversary year, Gasser is taking extra time to recognize the two elements of the business that matter most to them: their customers and their employees. While many manufacturing jobs have gone overseas, Gasser has sought to maintain control over the manufacturing process to ensure quality for their customers.
“Celebrating 75 years in business is something we’re proud of, and it’s because we manufacture our entire chair in-house that makes us unique in this market,” said Jesse Potter, Gasser’s Brand Development Manager. “We’re driven to build the product from the ground up. This allows us to manufacture products of the highest quality, as well as meet our customer’s built-to-order requests. We’re committed to providing jobs to our community, which also means we’re not reliant on containers coming from overseas.”
Gasser sources its raw materials with a commitment to using quality components and does so locally as much as possible to help with lead time and environmental impacts, Potter said. Gasser manufactures their frames in-house and uses an environmentally friendly powder-coat process, which also limits the effect on the environment.
The expansive Gasser Chair product line includes stylish, durable, comfortable, and functional seating for slot machines, table games, poker tables, bingo, sports books, and keno lounges. Gasser also offers a full product line for the hospitality market, including stackable seating, dining chairs, barstools, conference and desk seating, and lounge and guest seating.
Gasser will be unveiling several new products at G2E, including the Chaney and Newport series of gaming chairs. During the pandemic, Gasser focused its time on these two new series with a strong emphasis on ergonomics and aesthetics.
“We are really looking forward to having our customers experience these new designs for the first time,” Potter said.
“G2E allows us to convene in person and further learn how we may help our customers at this unique time,” Potter said. “Many of them were forced to close in 2020 and are now working on ways to enhance their properties. It’s an exciting time to work with customers and doing so in person again is exciting. The world has been doing a lot of virtual meetings. It’s nice to get some face-to-face time.”
