GAN Limited Friday announced that Seamus McGill will step down as chairman of the board of the B2B-technology provider. McGill, who will continue as GAN’s interim CEO, will be replaced by David Goldberg.

McGill was named interim CEO in September 2023, replacing Dermot Smurfit, who resigned.

McGill’s resignation from GAN’s board comes after the company entered into a definitive agreement and plan of merger in November 2023 with Sega Sammy Creation, a subsidiary of Sega Sammy Holdings

GAN also announced that Michael Smurfit, Derek Smurfit’s brother, is stepping down from GAN’s board of directors effective December 31, 2023.

“With the strategic review concluded, I feel that now is the appropriate time for me to step down from the board of directors,” said Michael Smurfit. “I am fully supportive of the transaction with Sega Sammy Creation and look forward to a timely closing.”

GAN also announced the appointment of David D. Ross to the board of directors. Ross has 35 years of experience in the gaming and hospitality industries and extensive backgrounds in both capital markets and mergers and acquisitions. He is currently CEO of Gaming Asset Management Enterprises. Ross will serve as the chairman of GAN’s audit committee.

“David brings nearly four decades of experience as both an executive and director of gaming and hospitality companies along with an extensive business acumen in operations, capital markets, M&A, and licensure in approximately 35 jurisdictions across North America,” Goldberg said.
