Gambling panel making decisions on regulations (AP)

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A special panel working on regulations for a future casino in New Hampshire hope to wrap up preliminary decisions so a draft can be written.

The New Hampshire Gaming Regulatory Oversight Authority meets Wednesday afternoon to continue discussing the regulatory framework they will recommend to lawmakers in December. They reached consensus on beefing up the Lottery Commission by adding two members and making the chairman full time. The new commission would oversee the lottery, a casino and charitable gambling.

The panel does not plan to include financial details about a casino – such as the number of authorized video slots or tax rates – in the draft legislation. The panel instead plans to include information it accumulated affecting those policy decisions in its report.
