Despite construction for the impending Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix and the influx of fans for Monday evening’s football game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Green Bay Packers, the opening day of the Global Gaming Expo at the Venetian Expo demonstrated that interest in the convention is at an all-time high.

During a press conference, organizers Korbi Carrision of RX USA and the American Gaming Association’s Maureen Beddis said all signs indicated that a record-setting event is possible. “We have some people registering today and we of course will see a lot of registration activity tomorrow,” said Carrison, event vice president, G2E, RX USA. “Things are trending very well. I believe we will see numbers ahead of last year.”

Attendance at 2022’s G2E was approximately 25,000.

Carrison added that the exposition floor space has expanded from 252,000 square feet in 2022 to 270,000 square feet this year. The number of exhibitors is 368, up from 350 last year.

This year, G2E organizers issued a call for content for education sessions early in 2023, attempting to gauge interest in various topics. Beddis, the AGA’s senior vice president, membership and events, wasn’t sure if there would be five responses.

Instead, there were over 400 submissions “for ideas for topics, suggestions for speakers,” Beddis said. “So be careful what you wish for. We had a lot of work to do going through all those submissions. That led to a lot of the new speakers and topics. … We’re excited to see the way that the industry has really embraced that opportunity. It shows how important the conference is for education to the industry.”
