Galaxy Gaming promises to invigorate table game pits with casino adaptations of Monopoly and Yahtzee that will debut at this year’s G2E.

“The pit is ripe for innovation, and this is another way Galaxy is going to set a new standard for what’s possible,” said Matt Reback, Galaxy’s president and CEO. Although releasing few details about the casino games being developed, he said they will go well beyond slapping a logo onto table felts. They will incorporate the play, feel, and symbols of the iconic Hasbro brands while enhancing the appeal of table game stalwarts such as blackjack, craps, and poker variants, he said.

On July 1, Hasbro announced that Galaxy had won multiyear rights to develop and manufacture land-based casino table games and electronic table games based on Monopoly, Yahtzee, and Battleship – what Reback referred to as some of Hasbro’s “crown jewels.” The agreement put Galaxy in elite company. Hasbro also awarded manufacturing rights for land-based Monopoly slot machines to Aristocrat Technologies. Evolution AB, whose purchase of Galaxy Gaming is expected to close soon, won development rights to Monopoly and Hasbro games for online slots and live casinos; Bally’s won online casino operator rights to Monopoly.

Reback called the Hasbro agreement a strong endorsement “of what Galaxy is and what Galaxy is becoming.” Galaxy licenses some of its games, including EZ Baccarat and the Perfect Pairs side bet, but this is the company’s first experience with adapting a non-gaming brand to the casino market, he said.

“We want to create an enhanced play experience for people, whether it’s a side bet, a progressive, or any of the other experiences we can deliver through technology,” he said. “Can we deliver increased volatility? Can we provide more ways to win? Can there be community prizes or other optionality for the player?”

The Sapphire version of Galaxy’s table games operating system – the Galaxy Operating System, introduced at the 2024 Global Gaming Expo – allows operators to offer multiple jackpots on a variety of table games without affecting basic game play. Sapphire’s “Dynamic Progressive” feature randomly multiplies payouts for winning combinations; players qualify for the enhanced jackpots simply by betting on the progressive.

Citing the widespread appeal of Monopoly slot titles, Reback said the brand is “in a league of its own” for being adaptable to a casino environment and predicted that a Monopoly game is likely to attract casino customers who don’t typically play the tables. He said Galaxy’s Monopoly table game will be fun and easy to understand, while expanding the appeal of Blackjack, poker variants, and other base game types.

Likewise, Reback said the Yahtzee casino game will mesh with that brand, involving rolling dice and collecting combinations, “the elements that make Yahtzee fun.”

“We have to build games that we think gamblers are going to want to play,” he said. At the same time, the games must meet operators’ needs for regulatory compliance, game efficiency, security, and performance.

The “first editions” of the Monopoly and Yahtzee table games will be on view at multiple tables in Galaxy’s bigger-than-ever G2E booth, he said, encouraging operators to make appointments to see them in person. A Battleship game is being developed for deployment in late 2026. He expects the Monopoly and Yahtzee games to reach casino floors in the first quarter of 2026. Galaxy will continue to develop new twists for each brand throughout the coming years of the partnership.

Reback lauded Hasbro’s expansion of its brands, including hundreds of licensed Monopoly versions for individual cities, series such as Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, and Star Trek, cruise lines such as Carnival, and the online social game Monopoly Go, which attracts about 8 million users a day.

“Hasbro’s mission and Galaxy’s mission are very similar,” Reback said. “Whenever two partners share a lot of commonality in their mission, you get a sense of optimism. They have shown they can put their brand into gaming and have success. … We have a strategy for innovation, and this (partnership) is one way that we’re going to set that new standard.”
