A global gaming supplier of table games, side bets, and progressive jackpots, AGS used this year’s G2E to put a large emphasis on innovation for its progressive platforms.
AGS’ table games division showcased Bonus Spin Xtreme featuring AGS FlexBet and STAX – their two award-winning progressive platforms that have set the bar in the table games space – prominently in their booth.
“Throughout 2025, we’ve added features in the form of having multiple progressives at a table and different denominations,” said John Hemberger, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Table Products for AGS, who oversees the company’s development of table games, progressives, and card shufflers. “We’ve also spent a lot of time creating progressive content for game types that have traditionally been excluded from progressives – like live poker, roulette and craps – because they did not have the ability to stand on their own.
“What we featured up front in our booth is Bonus Spin Xtreme for the poker room in a live poker environment,” Hemberger said. “That is the highlight for us at the show and something operators are super excited about because poker rooms have historically been somewhat of a loss leader when it comes to table games. Utilizing this product can supercharge the performance on the table in a meaningful way, while also bringing excitement to the players with jackpots that up to this point have only existed in the pit. Having this progressive in the poker room has really resonated with players.”
Hemberger said when thinking about the innovation that AGS brought to G2E, it shows how diverse the progressive platforms are and how far the reach is.
“You have so many different games from blackjack to poker derivatives to baccarat, craps and roulette,” Hemberger said. “There’s nowhere that a platform like Bonus Spin Xtreme can’t go, which has been very well received.”
Many operators are looking to link their entire floor and have one mega jackpot connecting everything, and Hemberger said AGS offers the best vehicle for that.
“There’s all kinds of new features that further allow operators to customize the experience they are delivering to their players,” Hemberger said. “With a platform this flexible, they can dial in everything from contribution rate, figuring out the average jackpots they are looking to award and how frequently they want people to win jackpots. This wheel-based progressive delivers a highly-focused and customizable progressive experience.”
By having two progressives administered at a single table, Hemberger said they are implementing a way for players to determine what amount they want to play as a well.
“They can choose to play Blackjack Power Up for $5 or $10 or choose to play Blackjack Xtreme 16 at $25 or $5. It’s fully customized, whereas historically it was a single fixed amount. You had a $5 progressive at your table, and that was it,” he said. “This allows players to choose their own experience so there’s more of an appetite for higher betting and more volatility allowing individuals to play at a higher level with no impact on other players. It allows the operator to maximize performance by introducing the second bet and higher betting amounts without taking away what the players are used to. It’s just layering on and adding to it.”
Not only did AGS spotlight Bonus Spin Xtreme, it highlighted its newest enhancement, AGS FlexBet. AGS FlexBet allows players and operators more choice with dual sensors that enable two ways to trigger the jackpot wheel, along with multi-denomination flexibility. In addition, AGS featured the Dex S poker shuffler and Pax S specialty single-deck shuffler.
“Our focus has always been on creating products that deliver excitement across the pit,” Hemberger said. “Bonus Spin Xtreme continues to be a standout for operators, and we’re building on that success with innovations that give operators more ways to engage players.”
