I am happy to present the latest innovation of CDC Gaming – our Casino Industry News Database.
Over the years CDC Gaming has been asked many times by subscribers, researchers, reporters, professors, students and legislators whether it was possible to get a list of articles written on a particular gaming industry topic or for a particular region. We now making a tool available that answers this need.
So far our queryable database includes 9,500+ casino industry news stories from over one hundred newspapers, magazines and websites, with stories published between January 1, 2014 and January 31, 2015. We estimate that all articles from 2013 will be added by February 25. Going forward, the database will be updated every Friday with the previous week’s stories. All articles can be accessed via multi-faceted search based on region, subject, source and date as well as keywords. Each article entry includes its date, author, source, and a summary, plus a link to the full story.
Unlike our recently introduced Casino Promotions WebApp, the Casino Industry News Database is open to everyone, including audiences not normally reached by CDC Gaming products.
Two people are primarily responsible for the Casino Industry News Database: Ken Adams and Cory Roberts. Every business day for over a decade Ken has assembled the most comprehensive casino industry news report available – plus he has kept excellent data records of all his reports. Cory, our Technical Director, brought this project in on-time and substantially under budget. Working with these two professionals is a true joy. I would also like to thank the CDC Team (especially John Broughton, Howard Stutz of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and our web designer Jill Maturino of Elevate Web Designs) for their extensive and constructive input.
We all hope that our Casino Industry News Database becomes a valuable, on-going aid for the gaming industry and anyone interested in gaming – and look forward to your ideas on how to make it every better.
