This summer, that’s exactly what Choctaw Casino & Resort-Durant in Durant, Oklahoma, is doing with its “3 Months. 3 Millionaires” promotion. For the fourth summer in a row, three Rewards Club members will walk away with $1 million each and it’s hard not to get excited about that!
According to the property, since the promotion started three years ago, guests have traveled from all 50 states to participate in the drawing, which just goes to show how much buzz there is for an event like this.
Most casino promotions offer prizes that are nice to win, but probably won’t change your life. A million dollars is different. A million dollars pays off a mortgage. It finances a new business venture. It funds retirement.
In addition, for the second year, each million-dollar winner gets to direct a $10,000 donation to a nonprofit organization of their choice. So not only is someone – well, three “someones” – going to win big, but so are three charities! That’s pretty special.
Will I become a millionaire this summer? Maybe. Maybe not. But the fun is in the possibility of winning and imaging what life might look like if my name is called. I already have a few plans for that money, which might include sitting on a beach with a mojito in my hand.
The million-dollar drawings will be held on June 6, July 11, and August 22 at 1 a.m. Winners must be present to claim their prize. Players earn entries into the drawing by playing with their rewards club cards.
