Cassie Stratford was introduced Thursday as the incoming board president of Global Gaming Women, the independent charitable organization that fosters development of women in the gaming industry.

Stratford was elected by GGW’s board of directors and began her term in July.

“GGW has become what it is today because of the dedication of its founding board members and sponsors in supporting and encouraging the professional advancement of women in gaming,” Stratford said in a statement. “It is such an exciting time for our industry, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with this impressive group of leaders to continue to advance GGW’s important mission.”

Stratford is vice president of legal affairs and assistant general counsel for Boyd Gaming. A graduate of Georgetown University, Stratford earned her law degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and started her law career as an attorney with Snell & Wilmer in Phoenix.

“Women around the world have benefitted from Global Gaming Women, and we still have work to do,” said former GGW President Christie Eickelman in a statement.” I am thrilled for Cassie to assume the mantle of leadership, to build on our achievements, and to take women in gaming to new heights.”

GGW also announced the addition of five new members to its board members for 2021-23:

  • IGT Senior Vice President of People and Transformation Dorothy Costa
  • Jacqueline Grace, senior vice president, and general manager, Caesars Entertainment
  • Entain Group Director of Corporate Affairs Grainne Hurst
  • Scientific Games Chief Commercial Officer Siobhan Lane
  • Kate White, vice president of business intelligence and IT program management, Penn National Gaming
