For the second year in a row, casino and hospitality consulting company Raving has collected 15 one-of-a-kind guitars owned and signed by well-known performers that are being auctioned online in an effort to assist the Notah Begay III Foundation, which endeavors to reduce childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes among Native American youth.
The 15 guitars were donated by tribal casinos where the stars performed. Artists include Foreigner, Foghat, Three Dog Night, Styx, Wynonna Judd, Loverboy, Los Lonely Boys, Uncle Cracker, Sugarland, and six others. Other items include concert posters autographed by Blood, Sweat and Tears, Little River Band, and the Temptations and autographed promo photos of Joey Fatone, Mickey Gilley, and Johnny Lee.
Casinos that donated a guitar to auction include: Black Oak, Blue Water, Buffalo Thunder, Clearwater, Mille Lacs Grand, Isleta, Sky Ute, Snoqualmie, Suqamish Clearwater, and Tachi Palace.
Bids start at $200 (Jimmy Allen and Matt Stell) and go up to $550 (Foreigner) and can be tendered through the closing date of July 26 at noon at one.bidpal.net/comedyslam/browse/all. Winning bidders will be announced at the sixth annual fundraising event, the Comedy Slam and Jam, which will take place virtually this year.
