The Enterprise Rancheria Tribe in California recently announced a $1 million gift to the Sutter Medical Foundation. The gift, the largest ever received by the foundation, will supply Yuba-Sutter County cancer patients and families with programs, services, and equipment.
The Enterprise Rancheria Tribe owns the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain.
“We see the tremendous healthcare that our community receives from Sutter Health and were inspired to partner with them for an extended period to unlock the possibility to transform cancer care for our Greater Yuba-Sutter County community,” said Enterprise Rancheria Chairwoman Glenda Nelson in a statement.
Through funds raised at its Pinktober event at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento, Enterprise Rancheria and its affiliated Enterprise Community Fund will make donations of $200,000 per year for five years starting in 2024.
“We are excited to be partnering with Enterprise Rancheria to shape the future of cancer care for everyone in our community, building the most comprehensive, integrated, and connected health system,” said Sutter North Medical Foundation President Dr. Steven Dale Blair.
Sutter Health is a not-for-profit healthcare system providing comprehensive care throughout California.
“As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento at Fire Mountain, we are most proud of the more than $3 million of charitable donations and in-kind gifts both the Tribe and the property have made to philanthropies throughout Northern California,” said Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento President Mark Birtha. “As we look forward to the next five years, this $1 million gift to Sutter Medical Foundation continues our commitment to the communities we reside in and allows us to have a direct and positive impact on those in need in our region. It is truly transformative.”
According to a release, Sutter Health will expand access to healthcare in the Greater Yuba-Sutter area, including opening a new primary care clinic in 2025. The new facility will be a home to primary care physicians and rotating specialists, enabling patients to receive care close to home.
“We are grateful to have philanthropic partners who recognize the possibilities to advance and expand our mission of exceptional care for local residents,” said Sutter Health’s Greater Sacramento Division President Rachael McKinney. “A gift of this magnitude helps us reimagine healthcare and turn possibilities into realities.”
