Bills aimed at tightening gambling loopholes and restricting games in places like grocery stores advanced from the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

During the meeting, lawmakers heard testimony on Senate Files 44 and 46, both of which have already cleared the Senate. The bills came from an interim committee aimed at modernizing state statutes to address the rapid growth of the gambling industry in Wyoming.

A third bill, SF 45, aimed at granting more local authority in approving gambling locations, was discussed Thursday by the House on third reading. It passed on a 57-3 vote, with two excused, and will now go back to the Senate.
