The Finance Committee voted 4-3 to recommend against the intergovernmental agreement with the Menominee tribe, which is proposing a $360 million casino with developer Hard Rock International on 60 acres just west of Interstate 94. Its decision comes a day after the Legislative Committee voted 4-2 supporting the proposal.

The agreement now heads to the full County Board for consideration Tuesday night. The Kenosha City Council, which gave preliminary approval to its casino intergovernmental agreement, will vote on Monday night.

During Finance Committee deliberations, supervisors who opposed the agreement, expressed concerns over the effect casino gambling would have on property values and the local economy.
