Wisconsin: Area municipalities share perspective on Kenosha casino project

As plans for the Kenosha Hard Rock Casino along Interstate 94 move forward, some smaller municipalities and local leadership have expressed a mixture of reactions, ranging from opposition to outright support, with several making official requests to be added to negotiations.

The Kenosha News spoke with representatives from the Village of Pleasant Prairie, the Village and Town of Somers, the Village of Bristol and the Town of Paris about how they feel about the casino project.

The Village of Pleasant Prairie has formally requested recognition as a “cooperating agency” on the casino project.

In a press release the village states it is “not opposed to the casino project and land trust,” but “raised concerns” regarding the casino’s impact on the village and other neighboring communities.
