An effort to legalize online sports betting operated by tribes in Wisconsin is being challenged by the Sports Betting Alliance, which represents national companies such as Draft Kings, FanDuel and Bet 365.

Damon Stewart, who represents the Sports Betting Alliance, spoke at a public hearing about the issue held by the Wisconsin Senate Committee on Agriculture and Revenue on Nov. 4.

He said the group is in favor of legalizing online sports betting in Wisconsin, but not as it is written in Senate Bill 592, which proposes that tribal nations receive at least 60% of the revenue.

The bill “seems to be rushed,” Stewart said.
