What Las Vegas needs to overtake Orlando as the top convention destination

For the 11th consecutive year, Orlando claimed the top spot on Cvent’s annual ranking of North American meeting destinations. Las Vegas, as it has been for years, held firm at No. 2. [1]

The two cities together form a gravity-defying duopoly atop an industry that, according to Cvent, generated more than $20 billion in global sourcing and request-for-proposal activity in 2025 alone — a record.[2] No other North American market comes close to matching their combined infrastructure, hotel inventory and sheer capacity to absorb the world’s largest conventions.

But for Las Vegas, being second — even a very strong second — raises an inevitable question: What does it take to reach No. 1?
