The casino in Petersburg made $105 million in adjusted gross revenue — which is wagers minus winnings — in its first eight months, according to the Virginia Lottery.
And that’s just from a temporary, tent-like structure.
The casino’s owner, the Maryland-based Cordish Cos., is building a permanent $600 million facility next door called Live Casino & Hotel Virginia. The facility will feature a casino, restaurants and a 210-room hotel, all set to open by the end of 2027. This week, Cordish celebrated raising the final beam on the structure and announced three restaurant concepts.
It all represents one of the biggest developments in Petersburg in years.
