Developers of the proposed casino for the city have announced a team to spearhead the campaign for passage of the Nov. 5 casino referendum.
Ja’Scotta Jefferson and Preston A. Page will co-manage the campaign, a statement from developers The Cordish Companies and Bruce Smith Enterprise said Thursday. They have set up shop in the former Petersburg Pickers/Rose’s Rexall Drugs store at the corner of Washington and Sycamore streets downtown.
In the statement, co-developer Bruce Smith said he was “excited” to bring Jefferson and Page onboard, adding their expertise and “understanding of the needs of the city of Petersburg is a win for everybody.
