The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has formalized its search for a new chief executive following the April departure of Andrew Rhodes.
The regulator has advertised a £190,000-a-year [$251,000] CEO role on the government’s Civil Service Jobs website, encouraging applications to be submitted before 23 October.
The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering a new program to combat the black market, alongside the regulator’s ongoing domestic reform agenda. The position is based in Birmingham at UKGC HQ, albeit with hybrid working arrangements.
Interestingly enough, knowledge of the UK gambling sector is listed as desirable, but not mandatory. Indeed, the ad specifically states that candidates with direct gambling industry experience must be able to demonstrate their impartiality and ability to maintain public confidence.
