It is one of eight projects officially pitched to state officials on Friday — the deadline to submit an application for a gaming license — which has been years in the making. From the west side of Manhattan to Coney Island.
Major developers and gaming companies are hoping to win one of three licenses which will be issued by the state later this year. The application deadline will kick off a community approval process, where local elected officials will have a say over whether these projects will proceed.
