As part of its plan to create Las Vegas glitz in a state with the nation’s strictest antigambling laws, a Texas tribe is partnering with the same architectural firm that designed the iconic Foxwoods Casino Resort in Connecticut, which paved the way for the multi-billion dollar tribal gaming industry.
The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas is expected to open the state’s largest casino resort — spanning nearly 12 football fields — just north of Houston in the Piney Woods of deep east Texas, officials said. Once completed, Naskila Resort & Casino will feature a multi-story 366-room hotel, resort-style pool complex, event and conference center and a large gaming room.
