Bet365, the online sports gambling business that is Stoke’s largest private sector employer, is also alive to the opportunities. Dan Myatt, who manages the recruitment for its 1,700-strong technology division, said: “It could free up some relevant skills. Companies like [Meta] have also extended the salary bandings quite dramatically. People have been highly paid for minimal years of experience so it could be a shock to the system from a recruitment perspective.”
