The money has been awarded this month through the Gaming Economic Development Tourism Fund.

Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) announced it has received a $100,000 grant to support renovations to its North Side facility.

The proposed new floor plan for the shelter will increase HARP’s capacity to support the public with veterinary and medical services, improve flow throughout the building and allow more efficient use of existing space, the shelter said in a press release.

“By redesigning and renovating the space we have, HARP will be able to broaden access to our low-cost and no-cost veterinary care to areas of high need,” said Gerry Delon, HARP’s executive director. “Neighborhoods like those surrounding our North Side shelter are impacted most by economic struggles and inflation.”
