A retail gambling operator has been fined £150,000 [$203,000] by the Gambling Commission in the midst of political debate about the future of gaming venues on Britain’s high streets.
The Commission fined Holland Park Leisure, a local AGC [adult gaming centre] operator in the East Midlands city of Leicester, for failing to offer a self-exclusion scheme to its customers. This is a mandatory requirement for licensed UK gambling firms, whether online or offline-focused.
Holland Park did not participate in a multi-operator self-exclusion scheme until its license was suspended by the Commission in October 2025. The regulator has now decided its pre-October non-compliance is worthy of a fine.
