A number of people spoke on their concerns or support of the bills. Some highlighting their religious beliefs and what gambling in the community would lead to.
“You are the shepherds of this state. And we will pray as shepherds you will do everything that is good and just and is right for our state,” one person said.
Others emphasizing the economic impact a casino would have on certain South Carolina communities.
