Casino MK ceased trading abruptly in April this year after its operators Aspers UK Holdings Limited went into administration. At the time, administrators admitted it was not possible to complete a sale.

But this week gaming company Merkur has announced it has completed the purchase of the venue and has plans to reopen with local job creation and expanded gaming options.

The company, which has its national headquarters in Milton Keynes, says it is already planning a recruitment drive aimed at creating local jobs for both new and former employees of the casino.

The reopened casino will offer blackjack, poker, roulette and modern slot titles, with planned upgrades to align with Merkur’s brand standards.
