The Romanian National Office for Gambling (ONJN), the country’s national regulator, has launched its first ever funding call under the ‘Aware and Free’ program, allocating €5m [$5.9m] to projects focused on gambling harm prevention.

Phase one of the process launched yesterday (20 April), with interested parties required to apply by 11 May. The ONJN will assess the eligibility of each application and publish its initial results by 26 May.

From here, submissions will face further evaluation by independent reviewers. After further review by the regulator, results will be made public on 8 July.

Subject to any appeals by applicants, the ONJN expects to announce successful applicants by 28 July.
