Calling all bingo fans! If you love the game and have been wanting to take it to the next level, you may be in luck.
Lawmakers have introduced legislation that would bring high-stakes bingo to the Ocean State.
The Non-Charitable Bingo Act would permit and regulate bingo for players of legal gambling age at the state’s two casinos: Bally’s Twin River Casino and Bally’s Tiverton Casino.
The proposal would expand the game beyond its traditional venues, such as senior centers, libraries, churches and event spaces. State law currently only allows charitable organizations to host bingo.
Senate Majority Leader Frank Ciccone, who sponsors the legislation, explained that the proposal could offset any potential losses in gaming revenue when the statewide casino smoking ban takes effect on Jan. 1, 2027.
