Operations at a downtown Reno resort are almost back to normal after a pipe break led to flooding on its casino floor during a storm.
The J Resort said casino operations are 90% back online Wednesday after a heavy influx of rain and hail on Sunday, July 27 caused a pipe to burst. The incident sent water gushing down from light fixtures and other openings in the ceiling onto slot machines, kiosks and other areas of the newly remodeled hotel-casino gaming floor.
The J Resort attributed the damage to hail getting into a storm drain pipe alongside heavy amounts of rainwater.
“The rain and the hail came down so quickly,” said Jonathan Boulware, vice president of Nevada operations for Jacobs Entertainment.
