Hot August Nights’ former main venue will hold its own classic car event this summer, raising questions about the relationship between the longtime partners.
The Grand Sierra Resort hotel-casino will host a new four-day classic car and concert festival called Street Heat in August.
The event will run from Aug. 5 to 8, which coincides with Hot August Nights. Street Heat is not affiliated with the longtime Reno-Sparks classic car festival. Hot August Nights is celebrating its 40th anniversary from July 31 to Aug. 9 this year.
The Grand Sierra Resort served as Hot August Nights’ main venue until 2025, when it moved to the University of Nevada, Reno while the GSR kicked off a billion-dollar arena and property expansion.
