The main attraction of Reno-Tahoe International Airport’s billion-dollar expansion just hit the ground — literally — as the airport kicked off construction on two new concourses.
An official groundbreaking was held on Tuesday, March 3, for the airport’s new Concourse A and Concourse B projects. Sporting a total price tag of $650 million, the new concourses account for the bulk of the cost for the Reno airport’s “MoreRNO” expansion and modernization effort.
Cris Jensen, interim president and CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, described the groundbreaking as a key point for the airport, which has been juggling several construction projects in recent years.
