Reno-Tahoe’s leading tourism authority named a new CEO on Thursday, ending a challenging search that saw two finalists drop out at the last minute.
Interim chief Mike Larragueta was unanimously voted as the new CEO of the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority during a special meeting by the organization’s board of directors.
Larragueta was the lone candidate left to present to the board after the other remaining finalist, Brenda Scolari, decided to withdraw on Tuesday. Scolari is the directory of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
Another finalist, Joseph Boschulte of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, dropped out in January.
