A year after announcing plans for a 200-room casino hotel at Firecreek Crossing, representatives for developer Elevation Entertainment now say the project is ‘on hold.’
In a short statement to News 4-Fox 11, the company said they love Reno but the project is on hold for the time being because of the ‘challenging financial market.’
Last November, the company announced plans to build a large resort casino at the corner of S. Virginia St. and Kietzke Lane. Plans included over 200 rooms, a 62,5000 square-foot gaming floor, more than 1,200 slot machines, a sports book and more.
Company representatives said they had already submitted plans to the city of Reno, which had a virtual townhall on the proposal in January.
