The NFL season [kicked] off Thursday night, but fans in Oklahoma still can’t legally place a bet on the game as sports betting legislation stalled at the state Capitol. This all happened as another state with a Republican-controlled legislature rolled out its sports betting program. Kentucky’s governor made the first bet Thursday morning.
“This is going to bring over $23 million of new revenue into Kentucky,” said Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, who is a Democrat.
Bets like this one are still not being placed in the Sooner State.
State Sen. Bill Coleman, R-Ponca City, has been one of the authors of the Oklahoma sports betting bills.
