Wind Creek Hospitality reported it drew more than 3,000 people to Prairie State College on Thursday with an interest in the nearly 1,000 jobs available for its $529 million casino and hotel being built in the Chicagoland suburbs of Homewood and East Hazel Crest suburbs of Cook County in Illinois.
The location was one of six new casino licenses created as part of the 2019 gaming expansion bill signed into law by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker. The eventual venue run by Wind Creek will be the last of those licensees to take its first wager — expected to be in November — but if the job fair was any indication, the suburban Cook County venue could be making up for lost time in quick fashion.
