While the new Potawatomi Sportsbook got all the attention when it opened Friday, the Milwaukee-based tribal casino and hotel also opened the other key component of its $190 million renovation project: a 14-table poker room.
The poker room had a soft opening Wednesday and Thursday with a tournament, and there were people walking around the room Friday following the sportsbook festivities.
It’s the first time Potawatomi has offered poker since the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 4,400-square-foot space currently has a capacity of 126 players — nine to a table. There are also plans to add a 15th table to the room, which will be operational 20 hours a day, from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m. local time, seven days a week.
