It’s not very hard to spot skill games. They’ve popped up across Pennsylvania in bars, restaurants, gas stations, laundromats, private clubs and smoke shops.
They look like slot machines but manufacturers of skill games say that a player’s outcome is determined by some level of skill rather than chance.
The games have been a point of debate over their legality for over a decade but this year, the potential revenue stream from taxing skill games plays a pivotal role in Gov. Josh Shapiro’s budget. Here’s the related legislation generating buzz in the Capitol.
