Pennsylvania’s Senate has passed a bill that would lower the minimum number of slot machines casinos are required to have. The idea behind the bill is to give venues more flexibility and update old rules that no longer reflect how people like to gamble. It’s part of a wider conversation that’s been going on in the state for a while now about how to help land-based casinos stay competitive.

One of the main reasons this change is being made now is how fast online gambling has grown. Digital platforms don’t have to worry about floor space or machine counts. They just focus on what players want: bigger game libraries, faster payouts, mobile play features, and bonuses that are usually more generous than anything you’ll find in person.
