The court battle continues over a proposed Centre County casino as a state court recently made a preliminary ruling while also ordering more information on the legal arguments involved.

The latest court order comes from the state’s commonwealth court, which basically rules against preliminary arguments raised by the casino developer, SC Gaming LLC and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

A third party, another casino developer, Stadium Casino LLC, filed suit in commonwealth court in July of 2021, challenging the State College casino project, and the state licensing procedure, on a number of issues.

SC Gaming is opposing the suit, but in the latest order, the court’s three judge panel terms several of the issues raised as being “ripe,” meaning they feel there’s basis for further legal consideration.
