Arnold Palmer Regional Airport could lose its regular charter flight service. This comes after Spirit Airlines, the facility’s only commercial carrier, in May.
The Transportation Security Administration pulled its workers from the airport after Spirit ceased operations. That is the catalyst for Aliquippa-based Preferred Casino Tours halting its services in Westmoreland County.
“We were under the impression that we had until August and that the airport had until August to find a solution,” Preferred Casino Tours co-owner John Mitchell said. “We repositioned our May aircraft to Atlantic City. Our Reno, Lake Tahoe aircraft rescheduled for this week, we repositioned both of those out of the Pittsburgh airport.
