Ontario: Multimillion-dollar casino fraud investigation leads to arrest

A months-long investigation into suspicious transactions at Ontario casinos has led to an arrest.

The investigation looked into “a months-long multimillion-dollar fraud scheme” involving suspicious transactions at multiple Ontario casinos, the OPP said in a press release today.

The investigation started in the fall of 2023, OPP said.

On March 7, police laid charges in connection to the investigation.

Nagatheepan Sivandarajah, 42, of Scarborough, was charged with three counts of fraud over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and two counts of use, deals, acts on forged document.

Sivandarajah is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on April 4.
