An official red ribbon opening is still a few weeks away, but a $50 million project to create Cascades Casino at Western Fair District is largely finished.
The project – completed in phases over 27 months– has expanded the former slots facility by 14,000 sq. ft.
Inside are 18 gaming tables and almost 900 slot machines, while 80 people have been added to the staff of more than 300.
Beyond gaming, the casino offers two restaurants, an outdoor patio, and bars.
Cascades Casino, which sends a portion of gaming revenues to city coffers, is part of several entertainment properties in and around the eastern section of Old East Village.
