Greek online betting company Stoiximan has become title sponsor of the Greek Super League in a three-year deal, from 2022-23 to 2024-25.
SportBusiness understands the agreement is worth €9.5m ($10.1m) over the term, or €3.16m per season, and is the largest sponsorship deal ever made by a private company with the league. The deal was approved unanimously by the league’s board of directors and was chosen in preference to offers from other companies, including betting brands.
The previous title deal with the German betting firm Interwettten, from 2020-21 to 2021-22, was worth about €2m per season.
Although the Stoiximan Super League, as it is now called, began in August, the title sponsor will be present for the deciding matches this season in the two-stage competition.
